Padmasan- Full Lotus Pose

What this does for you


  • Relaxes the entire nervous system
  • Beneficial for ankles, knees and thighs
  • A good posture for relaxation and meditation.

How to do it

  • Sit on the floor and stretch out your legs before you.
  • Bend your right leg at the knee and bring it towards you so that you can catch hold of your foot by both your hands.
  • Place this foot on top of the left thigh .
  • The right foot should be pulled towards you as far as possible so that the heel of the right foot is touching the groin. The right knee will be resting on the floor.
  • Bend and place your left foot on the left thigh.
  • The left foot should also be pulled towards you as far as possible so that evetually the heel of the left foot is also touching the groin
  • Both the knees should be resting on th floor.
  • Rest your hands on the knees.
  • Sit in this posture as adviced.
  • Reverse the legs when necessary.

As long as you wish for

Any time

  • If this posture seems to be too difficult just sit cross legged. Reverse the legs when necessary
